Downed Officer Rescue
Course Details:
- The rapid evacuation of officers under fire is a critical skill that requires preplanning and
training. The one-day Officer Down Rescue will help students develop a tactical plan for rescuing
down officers under fire. Students will have hands-on practice in recovering officers using
vehicles, on foot and in both indoor and outdoor situations. At the end of the training students
will be able to identify and solve tactical problems involving downed officers. This course is ideal
for patrol officers, patrol supervisors, detectives, detective supervisors, FTOs, and training
officers. The tactics are designed for first responders on the scene, allowing them to rapidly help
downed officers without being forced to wait for specialized units.

Equipment:
- Handgun w/ normal duty gear or standard carry gear.
- (3) magazines or speed loaders for handgun.
- 300 rounds ammunition (recommended) - 200 rounds (minimum) handgun.
- All standard first responder gear.
- Patrol rifle or shotgun w/ sling and (3) magazines.
- 200 rounds ammunition patrol rifle.
- Any simunition gear you may want to use. Sims weapons will also be provided.
- Eye and Ear protection.
- Appropriate clothing for the range/weather.
- Sunscreen, hat, rain gear, water
